Be on the lookout tonight for a Blue Moon.
Traditionally a Blue Moon is when four full moons occur in a season, or so says The Farmer's Almanac. The term Blue Moon is also used to define two full moons occurring in one month, as we have tonight.
More than likely you have used the term, "Once in a Blue Moon", a time or two in your life. The following examples come to mind for me.....
My son picks up his room once in a blue moon.
My husband uses the vacuum once in a blue moon.
