What I'm wearing... stone washed red tee shirt dress

What I'm reading... Katrina's Wings by Patricia Hickman. A story placed in the late 1970s about Katrina Hurley and her family. The summary on the back cover says this is a "tale of redemption, love and triumph set entirely in the Deep South, Patricia Hickman's novel offers an intimate, occasionally painful, and frequently humorous glimpse into the lives of two sisters who take different paths in life, yet wind up at the same discovery: Miracles show up in the most unexpected places."

What's happening in my kitchen... The kitchen has been busy... sweet and dill pickles made... more on the way! Canning takes time.

What's outside my window... It's been a lovely day, sunny with a breeze and the temperatures felt cooler than the eighty plus degrees that they were. Right now a wind has picked up as we expect the next couple of days to be cooler and stormy. I'm noticing that the days are shorter... sad face here.

What I'm thankful for... my neighbor, Farmer Mike, who brought me a box of canning jars so that I could make pickles from the many, many cucumbers that continue to come out of my garden.

What I'm smelling... a citrus melt that is in my Scentsy warmer.

What I'm hearing... the Yankees vs the Red Sox game on the television and the wind outside.

What I'm crafting... right now nothing is in process. Two of the grands spent the night last night and today they were going to pick out some fabric for their school masks. Their mom picked them up early so we didn't get around to it, but they are coming back this week so they can pick then. In the meantime, I know of a couple fabrics that I'm pretty sure they will pick. So, during the next couple of rainy days I'll get started on those. And I will probably work a bit on my sweater during the cooler weather too.

What's on my mind...right now I'm trying not to think too much. I'm giving my brain a vacation because there is just so much... TOO much going on and it could drive a person crazy!
