15mm chateau from cardstock

As part of my next battle generated by my random terrain system, I needed a 15mm chateau (think La Haye Saint or Hougomont. After being put off by expensive resin kits, I remembered some nice cardstock models from Dave Graffam. I used his "quaint house" model to make my villages and decided to visit what he had. After scanning the website, I decided the "country house," "Rake's corner warehouse" and "long house" would be all I needed for my chateau, then added "low walls" to circle the estate.
I printed them out at 50 percent as recommended for 15mm and got to work. All the buildings were a breeze to assemble. The long house and the warehouse took about 20 minutes total, the country house (the one with the tower) a bit longer. Best of all, I can print out as many as I want and some of the models offer different layers you turn on and off to get  a completely different looking building.
The most tedious part were the walls. Shrunk down, they are only about 3 inches long, and I needed a lot of them to circle the estate. Even worse were the little pillars which were very fiddly to finish, but  worked out fine. With the addition of a couple gates, my chateau was complete. I've got it based on a one-foot square vinyl floor tile and will trim off the excess paper around it and add some extra dirt and plants eventually. Nothing is glued down, so I can use the buildings or square wall section elsewhere as needed.
For less than $10 and probably three hours work (much less if you don't do the walls or use something else), I had a nice terrain piece.

Pictured inside are two more Spanish units and some generals.
