Star Wars; Kanan The Last Padawan #3 Review

SPOILERS AHEAD!

star wars kanan the last padawan

Caleb has stolen a ship and is being pursued through space by Clones who were once his companions. He manages to escape and whilst in Lightspeed remembers that he has nowhere to go and also decides that he must stop thinking like a Jedi to avoid detection.

He returns to the Spaceport where he stole the ship on Kaller and is confronted by The Sentinent, Janus Kasmir who is not happy an gives Caleb a telling off, and reminds him that Caleb cannot follow any more and must fend for himself!  The young Padawan runs off.

Caleb still has nowhere to go, so tracks Janus as he makes his way to a shady meeting in a dark back alley.
Things with the group of undesirables don't seem to be going well and kanan decides to jump in, literally, slaying some thugs with his lightsaber.

Janus is not happy with Caleb about ruining his deal for recruiting new crew members and tells him that he must take there place and must become less conspicuous by dispensing of his Jedi tell tale signs.

Caleb cuts his hair, ditches his robes, holocron and lightsaber and dons a blaster and garb that we are more familiar seeing him in in Rebels. He also drops the name Caleb and has no name for now.
The two go on a mission to steal some droids but are caught out when they get too greedy and are arrested, things appear to go from bad to worse for Caleb when Janus tells the authorities that he is a Jedi to try and save his own skin!

This series continues to impress and ties in well with what we already know based on Rebels and the novel 'A New Dawn'. We begin to see the journey of Caleb the Padawan into Kanan, beginning with him realising he must ditch his Jedi ways, including mind set, name and material objects. He also finds it easier than he thought to turn to crime, which surprises him after his teachings at the Jedi Temple. The story starts a bit slow but progresses really well in the end and art is great. This series continues to be an exciting, gripping read that is developing what will be an even more popular character in the future.
